Need A Nanny?

QUICKHELP AU PAIR AGENCY UK

Au Pair means:

  1. To live as a member of a family.
  2. To have free time to study English and to attend language classes.
  3. To help with general household duties: baby sitting and childcare.
  4. To have your own bedroom within the family home.

Au Pair Duties:

This may vary as it depends on the life style of the family with whom you are staying. Living and working together on an equal level is what Au Pair work is all about.

Duties Include:

Light Housework, Ironing, Baby-sitting & Childcare, Cooking. Helping with domestic pets.

Working hours, Free Time and Visas:

  1. Romanian and Bulgarian applicants are restricted to working a maximum 25 hours per week plus some babysitting.
  2. EU applicants may work as many hours as mutually agreed with the host family.
  3. 2 days each week are free - these are generally at the weekend.
  4. Au Pairs will do two nights babysitting each week

Au Pairs are here to live with a family, learn English and help with the children.

If the employment arrangement changes during their stay and they are being employed by their family as a Nanny or a Domestic, they will need to register for an NVQ course in childcare and reapply to the Home Office for a student visa.

They will be allowed to work and receive pay for the hours that are requested for the NVQ course. **

Accidents & Health Insurance

The Quickhelp au pair Agency is not responsible for accidents that happen while working as an au pair. Accidents outside the home are subject to the normal laws of negligence between the applicant and whoever was involved. The laws relating to the liability of the householder govern accidents in the home. It is advisable for all applicants travelling to a foreign country to have personal insurance arranged before leaving home.

Tax and National Insurance:

This will not apply unless the pocket money is raised above the limit (currently stated by the Inland Revenue) at which National Insurance and Tax becomes payable

Language courses:

Every effort is made to select a family in an area where there is the possibility to attend classes. To search for a local language course, visit the website: http://www.europa-pages.com/uk/

Board & Lodging:

The Family provides accommodation and full board and lodging. The Au Pair will generally eat meals with the family as a family member.

Holidays:

Families should give Au Pairs one week paid holiday every six months. Public/Bank Holidays should be free for the Au Pair. It is essential to agree a holiday before booking.

Termination of working arrangement:

Both sides have the right to terminate the arrangement after a suitable period of notice. The arrangement may be terminated without notice only if there are grave reasons. In most cases, however, both sides will agree to wait until the Au Pair has found another family or respectively until the family can engage a replacement

Warning:

It is essential that no one should leave a family after only a few days. The first “culture shock” of different eating and living habits can be overcome after a short time. However, if difficulties can not be resolved then our au pair agency should be informed as soon as possible as we must be in a position to obtain an objective picture from both sides.
